“Africa will be saved!” This fervent proclamation rang true at the third annual Wilberforce Academy held at Beloftebos, South Africa, from January 19 to 24, 2025. With approximately 90 attendees—60 delegates, 18 faculty, and 12 support personnel—this gathering culminated in a powerful celebration of unity among Christians from various Southern African nations, including South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zanzibar.
The Journey of Reflection and Learning
As participants feasted on the culinary delights crafted by Beloftebos catering, they engaged deeply in discussions centered on the Bible's teachings and the historical roots of Christianity in Africa. Faculty members delivered lectures on critical topics concerning culture, identity, politics, and economics, emphasizing the necessity to be vigilant about the fruits of their faith.
The Launch of the Wilberforce Collective Southern Africa
This year, the Academy saw the inception of the 'Wilberforce Collective Southern Africa', which intends to bridge the alumni from the three past cohorts belonging to various vocational fields across five nations.
